Description
Handmade by artist Melinda Broncheau. This beautiful set is a part of our July Northwest Native American Designer Showcase.
“My inspiration comes from my family, particularly my mother and grandmother who have both passed on. My grandmother Ruby McFarland taught me how to bead and weave when I was a young girl, my mother Lois Broncheau showed my how to make regalia for my children as we traveled the PowWow trail. My grandmother had a small craft and supply shop in her home, I would like to continue that legacy with Ruby’s. I enjoy making roses and flowers, roses was one of my family favorite designs on both my mother and fathers side, along with geometrics. I feel almost the simpler designs make the most beautiful accents to my work. I am a Umatilla/Nez Perce Native enrolled with the Umatilla Tribe.” -Melinda Broncheau
